Synopsis: A working Ant, occupied cutting down trees in the Amazon, meets up with a singing Cicada, who is able to make nature grow with her songs. Soon, both insects become friends. However, on that night, a fire starts in the rain-forest, and the little Cicada goes to Ant city to ask for help. Nobody answers to her pleas, and once the friendly Ant comes out to meet her friend, it is too late: the fire has consumed the forest, and the Cicada along with it. On the next day, there are no more trees in the valley, and the Ant is unable to make the nature grow back up with the Cicada's flute.

Submitter Biography:
A Peruvian filmmaker, he studied communications at the Toulouse Lautrec Institute and Painting at the Peruvian National Academy of Fine Arts. With more than ten years working at the animation sector, he has worked on several commercial projects for public and private institutions, as well as taught animation in several Peruvian educational institutions. His first short film, “Kanito, la primera batalla”, has garnered several recognitions in Peru’s budding animation industry. After having finalized his second short, “El Motor y La Melodía”, he is currently pre-producing a new 2D short film project: “Contacto”.
