She has published 14 research books and numerous articles. She is a specialist in intangible heritage. In 2016, she was the director together with the film director Alberto Rodríguez and Mar Arteaga (director of Canal Sur TV in Córdoba) of the first Master's Degree in Cinematography and television that was offered in Andalusia from the University of Almería, where Nieves Gómez is a tenured professor of the Faculty of Education. As a screenwriter and director of audiovisual projects, she began with some video clips of songs from the musical album "Amor bajo tierra", where Nieves also wrote the lyrics of the songs (Samuel Cuenda -la Voz and OT- was the composer of the music). Nerea Camacho and Ana Vayón (actresses), Víctor Sevilla (Actor), Carlos Machado (Spanish Olympic medalist in table tennis), etc. collaborated in them. Her awareness and her commitment to functional diversity for her personal and family reasons led her to start producing, scriptwriting and directing short films focused on social awareness of the inclusive level. All the short films presented so far in festivals have been awarded different prizes. Her doctorate and university research profile have united him with her passion for the world of stories and legends and have led her to produce various audiovisual works related to this literary and cinematographic field at the same time. She has directed her debut feature “Licanthropy”, shot in Almería and Galicia, which has just finished at the beginning of 2023, with a first-class artistic and technical cast: Will Shephard, Andrea del Río, Mauricio Morales, Pedro Fontaine , ... She has collaborated as a production assistant in some audiovisual projects and in the feature film “As I am”. Likewise, she has worked as an assistant director in the feature film "El hilo dorado" (July / August 2020). It has been released in the FICAL of Almería, in Jaén cinemas within the framework of "La muestra de cine español" and in Linares (Jaén), where it was filmed in 2020. It has recently obtained three nominations at the Carmen Awards 1st Edition of the Andalusian Film Academy and has been a candidate for the 2021 Forqué and Goya Awards.
